TJ’s Lekka Braai, the one-stop factory shop for any braai occasion, decided to embrace Solar Power.

The system comprises the following:

1 x Victron Multiplus-II 5kVA Inverter

1 x Victron 250/100 MPPT

1 x Freedom Won 15/12 kW battery

1 x Cerbo GX

20 x 315W SetSolar solar panels (the client sourced these – The peak PV (photovoltaic) power of the installation is 6300Wp).

Victron Multiplus-II 5kVA Inverter

In the event of a grid failure, the Multiplus-ll is automatically activated and takes over the supply to the connected loads. This happens in less than 20 milliseconds ensuring that computers and other electronic components operate without disruptions.
Solar energy gets stored within the battery during the course of the day – ensuring that our client can then utilize green power when the sun is no longer glistening.

Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)

With constant weather changes, especially in the Mother City, the MPPT smart controller improves energy production to utilize the solar panels most efficiently.

Cerbo GX

The Cerbo GX device provides many functions such as monitoring the battery’s state of charge, power consumption, PV harvest mains, and temperature. The Cerbo also acts as the communication hub between all the connected devices in the system.

Battery

The Freedom Won battery can deliver sustainable energy without heat generation. Our client is able to charge their battery, repeatedly, in less than 60 minutes without any loss in performance.

This Solar System was sourced to ensure the core functions of the business can still carry on even during load shedding. Their office continues working even when the power is off and security cameras and servers also continue to run when load shedding occurs.
